This story is unlike many others. Instead of Kal-El, son of Jor-El, landing on Earth and becoming the world's first superhero, Superman, this one takes a different turn. He swaps places with his cousin, Kara Zor El aka Powergirl, resulting in Clark arriving on Earth later than expected. As a result, Clark grows up in a world already populated by numerous existing superheroes and villains. So, when Clark eventually becomes Superman, how will he stand out? What makes Superman different from any other superhero? Why do we need Superman?

Kara Danvers and Barry Allen. Supergirl and The Flash. Girlfriend and boyfriend. After several months of dating, these two superheroes are finally starting to get serious. But then Kara's life becomes unexpectedly more complicated with the arrival of a Kryptonian she never knew existed. He looks more than a little bit like her famous cousin...except he's younger. And he's shockingly violent - perhaps too much for either her or Barry to handle. Who is this Superboy, and why is he here? (Follow-up to the Spidey & Speedy Trilogy. This is an alternate-universe fic, in which Supergirl is part of the prime Arrowverse. Any and all OC's are owned by me. The Flash and Supergirl are owned by Greg Berlanti, DC, and the CW.
