Aries didn't want responsibilities.  That was for sure.  They already had enough on their plate - as a traveling merchant and as someone who had to hide due to being a descendant of a Warden.  Both could lead to serious trouble.
But what had to happen?  A child came into their life: a young girl, seventeen years old, and human.  The human.  The human meant to show up every hundred years.
Now, thanks to some feeling of guilt, they take her in to keep her safe, but the Wardens demand that the human be killed, and many want the prize.

Hello, I want to first thank you for taking the time to read my proposal, as I know that there are many others you must work through who have done the same as I; please, trust me when I say that your attention is greatly appreciated. I am messaging you today because I wish to submit a selection of excerpts taken from the series of science fiction/science fantasy stories I have written; called Psychic the Saga. I'm a former United States Marine, and a currently enrolled Aerospace Engineering undergrad at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Over the course of the last eight years, during which the earlier stated experiences have occurred in my adult life, I have continually written the story I am now presenting for your consideration. Outside of writing as a hobby, and what was needed when submitting assignments, my only writing credential is a published engineering research paper in the European Physical Letters: 'Tailorable Twisting of Biomimetic Scale-Covered Substrate'; of which, my main contributions were that of the experimentation, and the editing/proofreading of the paper. In regards to my submission, the story of Psychic follows our trio and the rest of their friends as they fight for peace and stability within the newly unveiled realm of psychics, once hidden amongst the world for untold millennia. The statistics of Book One are as follows: word count = ~205279, page count = ~396, target audience = young/new adult (16~34 yr. of age). The reasoning behind this age range is two-fold: the concepts, morals and lessons, themes, and situations/ problems faced by the main characters are both relatable and beneficial for this age group; also yes, there is foul language, and yes there are very visceral depictions of violence. Also also (lol), I wish to give a disclaimer in terms of any romance, love, or anything else similar; I intentionally never take the story beyond anything more intimate than a kiss. So there. Poseidon calls in a debt with Artemis to protect Percy when he is 6, and Artemis agrees reluctantly, and until he is 12, she protects him, honoring the debt, and does this by taking the form of a 6 year old mortal, and they become friends, which Artemis never expected. This makes their eventual separation when Percy turns twelve all the more painful. Artemis reveals her true form to him after he saves her from Mount Othrys, no longer being able to stay away from someone who'd become her closest friend and the two grow close once again. Eventually, a series of unexpected events occur, and a new threat is on the rise, and Percy is forced back into the divine world, and this threat makes the previous wars seem like the good old days. At times I know I've made pacing either too fast, or too slow, and things may seem rushed, or that they take forever, but I've done my best to write this as well as I could, this is also the first story I've written in First Person POVs, swapping mainly between Artemis and Percy, occasionally with other characters where it's relevant. Also this story is way longer than I intended it to be initially, mostly because I didn't have a plan, and also because after a certain point I just began saying "You know what? Fuck it. Why not" and adding a lot of stuff, so yeah there's a lot of different sub plots and storylines within this story, that's pretty much the main reason it's so long, I've done my best to make sure there are as few plot holes as possible, and that each arc ends properly, but there's probably still some.

She was always fascinated with humans and the fact that they had soulmates because a lot of other races didn't. However, because of her strange behavior, Fate made too many mistakes. After that, Fate made what she thought, was a good move. What she didn't count on was that the good move she made knew that you can cheat fate. This is just the result of my weird imagination and brain thinking about what that character would do and telling me what to write. This story really starts in the middle. Ari, who often goes by A, is propped up against a tree in the middle of a forest with a dagger in her stomach. She's lost a lot of blood already, and she keeps losing more. Helios is kneeling next to her, and they're both trying to figure out what to do. I'll start at the beginning, though. Ari is a wanderer, traveller, adventurer, and lots of other things. She doesn't have a home, until one day she does. She's chased into the Akiire territory by the Akiire's enemies; the Tesera. Luckily for her, the chief of the Akiire tribe takes her in. Akiire medicine men and women fuss over her until they're sure she's safe. Then the Akiire initate her as a member of their tribe. She gladly accepts. She's started to like it there, after all. Then Helios starts talking to her. He's nothing special in the tribe. He's a good warrior, but all the warriors are good. The bad ones have already died. Nonetheless, by the time we get to the forest with the dagger and all that, A has only spoken to Helios a few times. Now he's her only way to stay alive.

I am not from this planet. Hell, I am technically not from this galaxy. However, that doesn't change the fact I am here now, and my job is to save what I can on this forsaken planet and what's left of its inhabitants. The problem is that not everyone wants to be saved. I know what you're thinking. You can't save those who don't want to be saved. I bloody well agree. The ones who sent me don't care what you or I think, though. All they care about is numbers. They need a certain success rate to continue to get funding for their "expeditions" and "peacekeeping" efforts. I use both terms loosely here. However, that's what they put on their records, and it's what sounds good and looks suitable to their investors. So this is the way it's going to be. So be it! Oh, did I forget to mention the Universe decided I was the lucky girl to help find the one person who could save us all from self-destruction? Yea, that is a shitty idea, but once again, no one cares what I think.
