Clara was only eighteen when she met him-the boy with the charming smile, the sad eyes, and a darkness he kept tucked just beneath the surface. She trained him at work. She caught feelings. And before she could blink, she was falling. Ashton made her feel seen. Wanted. Loved. But what began with sweet words and stolen glances soon twisted into something unrecognizable. The drugs, the alcohol, the jealousy, the isolation. The manipulation. The bruises she couldn't always hide. In the quiet spaces between chaos, Clara began to disappear. Her voice. Her dreams. Her sense of self-gone. I Forgot Who I Was is a hauntingly real, emotionally raw journey through the kind of relationship nobody talks about until it's over. Inspired by actual events, this slow-burn psychological story explores love that turns to control, charm that masks cruelty, and the quiet strength it takes to leave in the end. Because sometimes surviving means rewriting your ending. And remembering who the hell you were before they tried to break you. WARNING!! This novel contains sensitive themes and depictions of: • Emotional abuse • Physical abuse • Verbal abuse • Sexual assault (deeply implied) • Substance abuse (alcohol and drugs) • Gaslighting and psychological manipulation • Isolation • PTSD, trauma responses, and self-worth struggles Reader discretion is strongly advised. Hope

Kate was used to dealing with unfair consequences. Having a less than ideal home life and no one else to support her, she had learned to deal with things on her own. She had learned not to feel and especially not to hope. So when someone new comes into her life Kate does the best thing she can think of, she shuts them out. But, after a series of events in the course of one day, they are thrown back together, and Kate is given the chance to explain herself. Explain why she was so guarded and why she had closed herself off in the first place. And maybe along the way Kate learns that things aren't always so bad. That feeling and hoping aren't the worst things in the world. ***Warning: Mention of abuse is included in this story. Please don't read if that is a trigger for you in any way.
