When the overlord fought the first master, he was trying to create a new weapon, but he was defeated before he could finish. Years later, Gramadon finishes it. The ninja are in for a battle because the daughter of the overlord is not one to be underestimated and lloyd might have met his match.

The darkness takes full control of Lloyd and makes him just as evil as his dad, but more powerful since he is still the Green Ninja. The rest of the team is left to figure out who and or what is powerful enough to destroy the evilness in him without harming their friend.
