It was just another sleepless night until a stranger messaged me at 2:03 a.m. No name. No photo. Just a blank profile and a voice hidden behind three blinking dots. What started as a random text slowly turned into something deeper-something I didn't see coming. Sometimes, the most powerful connections begin with silence... and a single "Hey."

*Formerly Known As "Love Has No Boundaries" With Revisions* • • • • • • • • • • • I stood dusting off my jeans,"Aight bruh, I'mma slide." Turning I dapped up one of my closest homies before stepping off the porch. "Aight man, I'll hol at you later." He responded putting out the lit end of his blunt. Remote starting my car, I hopped in deciding to check my phone while the air began to circulate. It was almost summer and it was hot as hell in New Orleans, had me second-guessing settling down here. I checked my messages, but didn't respond to any of them. Then I checked a few missed calls, but didn't return any of them. Lastly, I listened to a few voicemails from unknown numbers before starting to delete them but then my finger paused over one particular name. I never listen to her voicemails. I don't want to hear her voice; it just floods me with guilt and reminds me of my past, a place I don't ever want to visit. I don't know why but for some reason my finger hovered over that voicemail and I couldn't stop myself from clicking it. "Hi Dre," She spoke gently as my heart tightened in my chest,"Or Adrian," She chuckled softly,"I'm not sure what you like to be called anymore." There was a sadness in her tone,"I'm actually not sure why I'm even leaving this message...I've left a million and I still haven't heard from you over the past eight years so I don't know what makes me think this time will be any different." There was shuffling and a bit of silence before she sniffled,"But I miss you." My grip tightened around the phone. "I don't know where you are right now, or if you even still care about me, but I miss you," She cried,"And I really wish you'd come home." She whimpered. "I need you Dre...I don't know if that means much to you, but I need you." Then it ended. I sat in my car, steel gaze, staring at the road ahead. My mind racing but one thing was clear. It was time I went home..

She wanted to die. He wanted to live. ••• A hand grabbed onto my wrist, yanking me back just as the train rushed past, before I'd even had time to comprehend whether or not I'd carry out the action. I stumbled back into the person's chest, my heart jumping out as I swivelled around, startled to find myself staring into piercing dark brown eyes. "Were you going to jump?!" "No," I drawled out sarcastically, ignoring the intensity of his eyes as they bore into my own, "I just stand on the edge of train platforms at midnight because I feel like it." Seeing the stranger tense, I stepped away from the edge, feeling his hand let go of mine as I picked up my bag before moving to sit down on one of the platform benches. Letting out an evident sigh of relief, he sat down after tentative movements towards me, and I could feel his intense gaze raking across my features. His eyes never left me, I was sure of it, with every step both he and I had taken. "Are you okay?" He had asked warily, apparent apprehension in his deep voice while he spoke, "Do you want to talk about it?" "What's there to talk about?" I threw his question back at him, watching him study me for a few critical moments before his potent gaze switched to our surroundings. "I did just watch you nearly kill yourself; that might be a place to start?" ••• She didn't expect for a complete stranger to stop her milliseconds away from committing suicide. She didn't expect him to be so kindhearted and patient. He didn't expect to stop her from jumping in front of a train the first time they met. He didn't expect to find himself falling for the one girl he knew he shouldn't. [Word Count: 180,000 - 200,000]

To the Boy Who Made Me Feel Everything

38 parts Ongoing

Some stories begin with a kiss. Ours began with a handshake and silence. He wasn't supposed to mean anything-just a classmate, a stranger, a passing name. But somehow, he became the boy who made me feel everything. The one I texted when I didn't know what to say. The one I looked for in crowded rooms without meaning to. The one who sat beside me once on a bus...and never really left. This isn't a perfect love story. There were no grand gestures, no dramatic declarations, and no promises. Just two people, slowly breaking and becoming, in a world that never stopped moving. He wasn't mine. But he felt like home.
