Thea James had always known she was different but for reasons that were a mystery to her, and at the age of eighteen she had yet to figure out if that was a good thing. She lived a secluded life along with her uncle Alistair and two older cousins, unaware of the world beyond her own.

By a sudden twist of fate Thea is thrown into reality.
