Enoch Lewis is a fixer-a man with steady hands and a sharp mind, called upon when trouble needs quietly mended. In the underbelly of 1940s Manhattan, he's the go-to for cleaning up messy problems, stitching wounds both physical and otherwise. He's no hero, no legend-just a practical man trying to get by in a world that never sleeps and rarely shows mercy.

But when a mysterious job drags him into a shadowy realm of witches and dark secrets hidden beneath the surface of Earth's city streets, Enoch must face a new kind of danger. Out of his depth but motivated by boredom and the promise of money, he takes the job-never expecting the darkness he thought was just stories to become very real. Now, he must adapt or be swallowed whole by the forces he once dismissed.
