The walls of the Blackwood estate had always been cold, but tonight, they were colder.

Ana stood stiffly in the center of the marble-floored foyer, the chandelier above casting fractured light over her wedding dress. Not a flower out of place. Not a smile on her lips.

Alex Blackwood didn't speak. His tailored suit was pristine, his posture rigid-like he was attending a board meeting, not standing beside his new wife. The silence between them was a battlefield, crackling with tension neither of them bothered to mask.

Their marriage had been signed with pens, not promises. Witnessed by lawyers, not loved ones.

The deal was simple: Alex got the money to rescue his father's failing empire. Ana became the bride her father proudly offered, the perfect token of loyalty in a billion-dollar merger.

Neither wanted this.

Ailzeh wasn't supposed to be here. She had finished early, decided to surprise him. But as she stepped into his office, her smile froze. A woman stood too close, laughing, her hand on his arm. And Saad-he didn't push her away. His gaze met hers, panic flashing in his eyes. "Ailzeh-" She turned and walked away. He caught up in the elevator. "Let me explain-" "Don't." Her voice was deadly quiet. "Ailzeh, it's not-" "I don't care." The doors slid open. She left. --- At home, her hands trembled as she pulled out a contract. Her name. His name. "Marriage is a business agreement. Divorce upon completion of terms." Her breath hitched. A choked laugh slipped past her lips. The door burst open. "Ailzeh-" She turned, eyes burning. Saad paled at the contract in her hands. "You were going to divorce me," she whispered. "Ailzeh, listen-" She threw the papers at him. "Tell me I'm wrong!" He flinched. "I-" She laughed bitterly. "You can't." "I never planned to go through with it-" "Oh? So you strung me along instead?" Her voice cracked. Pain flickered across his face. "Ailzeh-" "I trusted you." Her voice was hoarse, thick with betrayal.
