Nearly seventy years ago, the nukes landed on London and the German Reich achieved victory in The Second Weltkrieg. The United States, strangled by sectarian violence and ideological struggle, watched from afar as the fascist eagle rose over the old world. A cold war froze the trade lanes of the Atlantic and the threat of mutually assured destruction kept the two titans from clashing, but now the war has begun to thaw. The Fuhrer of the Germans has taken his own life, and his empire is consumed by slave revolts and the liberal ideas of the new generation. For the first time in nearly a century, the path to freedom is open for the remnants of old Europe. In America, all pretense of unity has been abandoned. The nation has split into numerous successor states and micro-countries, all claiming legitimacy, and with some having the teeth to back it. Millions of refugees flee Europe as the old world burns in the greatest civil war in all of human history, and in the south of what was once the United States, a lone mercenary by the name of Carter takes a job that will change the fate of his home, a megacity called the Nash, forever.

This is the first draft of my new cyberpunk novel, The Electric Archipelago. In the future humanity is imprisoned by massive corporations. Computers are directly connected to their brains, creating a nightmarish state of absolute control, every action is monitored and harshly judged. Perhaps worst of all, the victim's perception of reality itself is controlled. A system of social credit hangs over everyone's heads. If you want to survive you will need to pick a company and stay loyal to that brand. But it goes beyond that, because each corporation has been infiltrated and taken over by forces that are interested in more than just profit. John is a Skinwalker, a free man, a man who is immune to these restrictions. He goes where he wants and does what he wants, moving from one augmented reality to the next, always looking for the next score.Complete

However, that changed when a Gig gone wrong led to him joining none other than Maine's crew. After running with the crew for some time, he ends up putting himself in mortal peril to save his crew. Seven years later, in the year 2081, he is reawakened by the Arasaka Corporation in an unfamiliar mechanical body, and learns that everyone he once cared about is gone, including his mainline. With the love of his life taken from him, Michael has lost the one thing he had left to live for, so he vows to get revenge against Arasaka, and to kill Adam Smasher, the Merc who murdered his mainline in cold blood. In his fit of rage, he meddles in affairs he shouldn't have, and inadvertently causes a breach in the Blackwall, leading to a demonic AI cult known as the Tenebrium Collective breaching the new Net, and posing a threat all of humanity. Will Michael be able to overcome his grief in order to save the world? Only time will tell.Complete
