In the distant past, the Gods ruled over the mortal world with force and bloodshed. They gained power through equally wicked humans who prayed for harm to befall their fellow man. Yet, amidst the chaos and tyranny, the need for peace grew. The innocents and victims of war prayed for kinder Gods, until the prayers of the good outweighed the evil. New Gods were born from those prayers, and those whom refused to adapt to the new times eventually faded along with the violence. Now, the Gods live to serve their worshipers, gaining their power by fulfilling the prayers of the innocents in need.
However, some of the surviving Gods have not fully lost their need for violence. And as long as there are cruel humans on the earth, the war Gods still exist, although barely by a thread.
Camomila is a lowly Naga, a serpent Yokai who had witnessed for herself the raging lawlessness and the beginning of the new era. Rather than living among her own kind, she has chosen to reside alongside the mortals, observing them and learning from their tenacity and resilience through the years. Her life was comfortable and enjoyable. But she learns for herself how quickly one small act can change everything when she warmly offers her home to a weary stranger, who was none other than the Dragon God of the Sea.
She finds herself the object of his fascination, and to keep her to himself, he bound her to an old shrine that once belonged to an ancient Goddess who had fallen long ago. Camomila lives there in solitude for many years, fondly recalling her life before her downfall, and fruitlessly hoping to be freed. The God, however, is rather proud of himself for his actions, and he often visits her to remind himself of the rare beauty he has collected that belongs only to him.
But fate is a whole other being, one more powerful than the Gods. When a weak human man appears at the shrine to pray to the seemingly forgotten fallen Goddess, everything begins to unravel.
