16 year old Katerina or "Kat" Ivanova has spent the majority of her life in the Red Room - a training facility located in Russia that turns young girls into deadly assassins.
The Red Room is a brutal place, and Katerina is one of the best assassins of the Red Room. Throughout the years of abuse, torture, and violence, Katerina has become emotionless, fearless, and ruthless.
Her trauma has caused her to suppress her emotions for all these years, but when she is captured by the Avengers, her emotions begin to spill all over the place. She truly believes she has no place in the world.
Natasha Romanoff, a survivor of the Red Room wants to show Katerina that she has a purpose - a reason. She wants to give Katerina the chance of redeeming herself from all the red in her ledger.
