"Maurie"ain't your average high school senior. She's 18, plus-size, and proudly posted up on the South Side of Chicago, trying to keep her head up while the world chips at her confidence. Between photography, sneaky situationships, and sipping Henny at house parties, Maurie is just trying to feel something real.

Then Kyan shows up - all tattoos, golds, and danger. He sees her in ways nobody else ever has, but he ain't clean. He's gang-affiliated, street-tied, and haunted by a life that don't leave room for softness.

Still, he calls her mama, and somehow, that's enough. But what happens when the streets come knocking, and Maurie realizes loving him might mean losing herself?
