After the Winter Soldier, a ghost story to most people, tried to assassinate one of Valerie's students right in front of her, her life would never be the same again.
Never figuring out why this ruthless monster listened to her trying to save the innocent child, she found herself in a world where no one believed her story. From then on she lives in fear but also tormented by nightly visits by the assassin that seemingly ruined her peaceful, quiet existence.
A life on the run with the Winter Soldier tests her morals, but also makes her understand the depth of a man that lived through more torture than anyone else. Up to the point where even he has to realize that Bucky and the Winter Soldier are two sides of the same coin.
