Ang mga hiyas ay pinaghiwa-hiwalay at itinago sa apat na sulok ng mundo upang maprotektahan mula sa mga ganid na nilalang na nagnanais kunin ang kanilang kapangyarihan. Sinasabing kung magsama-sama muli ang apat na hiyas, muling magbabalik ang lubos na balanse sa mundo-o kaya nama'y mas malaking kapahamakan.
