Burning Bridges

"Don't," He almost growls. "Push me away."

I put my chin up in the air, our noses almost brushing because of how close we are standing.

"Then get out of my way." I bit out.

"You're lying to me." He states.

"No, Arlo, I am not." What I am, is growing frustrated with this boy.

He needs to let me go and mind his own damn business.

He think he can make demands? This is the first time he has ever talked to me. He doesn't even know me.

Odelle has never had it easy.

As a toddler, she was pulled out of school due to severe bullying. She used her older brother's schoolbooks to educate herself further. Her dad had always been picking on her. He thinks of her as weak and a disgrace to the family.

At 14 years old, Odelle's world flips uspide down. She finds herself in a car accident where she loses her brother and maybe so much more. Her home life becomes so much worse. Both her parents lose themselves to addicting substances. She fights to protect herself and her little brother, Louis, who was conceived right after the accident.

When she finnaly does go back to school, she finds cruel notes in her locker. The bullying starts all over again. And there is this one boy, Arlo, who doesn't seem to like her at all yet she cannot stop thinking about him.

When it all becomse to much, all Odelle can do is fall deeper and deeper.
What if she gives up?
What if anyone finds out?
What if she burns the bridges to her past?
