Emmie Cano has been playing for USC for the past three years. She is not only the best player on the team but one of the best players in the country. She has an average point of 22 per game, and almost no one can guard her. That is, except for her competition, Paige Bueckers. Paige Bueckers is slightly above her with a 23-per-game average, securing her as the #1 spot as the best women's college basketball player. Emmie and Paige have been switching between the #1 and #2 spots for the past 3 years, with Emmie having the spot her freshman year. Everyone knows them as the biggest rivals in women's college basketball. Every game between USC v. UCONN becomes intense, with the highest watched and populated game of the entire season, with fans dying to see the interactions and rivalry between Emmie and Paige. The tension is high, and the thought of Paige makes Emmie's blood boil. While USC has treated her well in the past, Emmie was shocked to find an offer from UCONN's coach in her phone for her incoming senior year. Her first instinct was to ignore it and laugh, but then she thought. UCONN was closer to her family, given they live in NYC. Emmie, with her dad in a coma back home, time zones, being unable to see her family, and being on the opposite side of the world all took a toll on Emmie. Not only was UCONN more practical, but it was her dream since she was in 8th grade. She was not offered a spot at UCONN in the freshman recruitment process, and USC became her best offer. Although the thought of being on the same team as Paige enraged her, she knew Paige could not let her stop her. It was a challenging choice to make. USC felt like home for Emmie. From the warm weather to the team to her friends, she felt complete. Yet basketball is her life, and she knew UCONN could increase her skill and give her a better experience as a player and her life. So, after talking to UCONN's coach, her decision became clear. Emmie is going to UCONN.
