Rose Fincher was riding the high of pop stardom - until one music video and a few skin-baring lyrics got her labeled "inappropriate," "try-hard," and "cancelled." Left reeling from the backlash and buried in double standards, she starts to wonder if she's become the punchline of her own career. Tucker, better known as Role Model, is an alt-pop singer who sometimes says more in his songs than he should and isn't afraid to stir the pot. Known for half-serious stage bits where he says he's different pop stars, he once jokingly introduced himself on stage as "Rose Fincher"* - but no one knew he actually admired her more than he let on. What begins as sharp banter at a chaotic Hollywood party turns into a slow, burning friendship rooted in creative chaos and unexpected understanding. He sees her - not as a headline or an aesthetic, but as an artist. And she sees him - the man beneath the persona. As their connection deepens, so does the intimacy: in the studio, in late-night texts, in half-finished lyrics meant only for each other. It's complicated. It's messy. It's unfiltered. And maybe for the first time, it's real.

'I love you,' Asher told me while the police man handcuffed him. The night glimmered in his green eyes. His dark hair was tousled, strands like conductors of the energy in his chest. "I fucking love you." In other circumstances, a few years ago, I would've easily retorted, but there was a humid substance being loaded in the unfiltered air that wrapped around my throat, and I couldn't speak. If I tried, I'd break into a full fledged scream, and possibly end up handcuffed as well. I took many steps back, retreating from the source of toxicity, suppressing a pseudo feeling of guilt but being grasped by its hands so easily I could simply lunge at my boyfriend and tell him everything would be all right, that he had done the right thing, and that I was so proud of him. But as much as I wished him to, he wasn't a child anymore, and I had ceased to be the girl he idealized. The man pushed Asher's head into the vehicle, and he repeated "I love you" over and over, like a fresh mantra. I didn't doubt his words. But there were just a few things that still made sense to me, and his voice was in the past. A relic that was rooted in a better context. Us. "I could just die with you." ---------♡--------- Starring: Gwen N.F. Asher Price Noah Gallo Scripted: August 2017. Started: September 2022. Finished: November 2022. Word count: 90K-100K.
