COLLETTE CHEUNG's plans for the summer are simple. Finally back in Hong Kong, she wants to grind her video games, watch her C-dramas and read just enough that she could still fool herself into looking productive. None of her plans include romantic entanglement (what was the point in getting a boyfriend right before university?), or Gray Tsang, the brother of her best friend that she has far too much in common with.

But suddenly, they're playing her favourite games together night after night, and he's convincing her to go on runs when she'd rather stay in bed. Before long, Collette's questioning the rules she'd set for herself all her life.

She knows she's an overthinker. She knows she makes things more difficult than it needs to be. She knows it's a self-defence mechanism, but for once in her life, this boy makes her want to throw caution to the wind. But he's her best friend's brother, and the timing's all wrong.
