The desert doesn't whisper, and the sky goes far beyond anything you could ever imagine. When Emmeline Winslow graduates college and follows her high school sweetheart, Air Force pilot Jonathan Reese, to a base near Phoenix, Arizona, she believes they're beginning the next great chapter of their lives. As Jonathan trains to become a fighter pilot, his quiet brilliance and relentless discipline set him apart-drawing attention, admiration, and increasing pressure from those determined to test how far he can rise. But what if the sky gets greedy? Will he still find his way home, just as he promised her under the star-drenched Arizona sky?

I am not sure, if you are testing me, trying to get back at me or if you are plain stupid", I tell him, and he grins. Six months ago, Taylor was on a mission that went horribly wrong. She lost three people that were near and dear to her and still has to fight the aftermaths of the incident. When she receives orders to become an instructor in one of the most prestigious fighter and strike tactics programs in the U.S. armed forces, she must face her demons whether she wants to or not. Will she be able to do that? And will a certain handsome and well-spoken fighter pilot help her get through it all and become the woman she once was?
