I wake up to the door opening and footsteps tiptoeing towards my bed. I immediately sit up, eyes open.
"Who's there?! Explain thyself!" I exclaim. I rub my eyes to see Max's figure in the darkness. "Oh... Max, what's the matter? Why aren't you in bed?" He quietly walks towards me, and crawls onto the bed with his paws trembling.
"It... It was really cold outside. I couldn't sleep. And the couch was hurting my back..." He looks at me, his eyes showing fear. "And... And I had a nightmare, and I know I sound childish right now. I was wondering if... Maybe I could sleep with you tonight?" He asks, crawling towards me. I pull him closer.
"A nightmare? What was it about?" I ask him. He shakes a bit more and nuzzles his snout into my chest.

21 year old Max didn't know what to say when he was chosen to be the prince's spouse, judging by how the bakery he owned made little to no money. But the day he was chosen, everything changed. As they finally start to get used to each other, Prince Leo notices that things are changing beyond their kingdom, and Max must compete in a championship purely for one's entertainment. Through broken bones and pure determination, he finally gets to prove he's worthy enough for the prince.
