Ishan Kishan never thought he'd fall for his professor.

At first, it was harmless, showing up to every class, actually doing the readings for once, making sure his hand was the first one raised. He liked the attention Professor Shubman Gill gave him-quiet, subtle, never too much, but always there. A glance held longer than necessary. A question that felt a little too personal. Praise that stayed with him longer than it should've.

From finishing his assignments on time to casually walking past Shubman's office more than needed, it was all just a game. A thrill.

Until suddenly... it wasn't.

Until he realized he was watching the clock just to see him again. Until he started caring too much about what Shubman thought of him. Until that attention wasn't enough anymore.

Ishan was never meant to fall for him.
And Shubman was never supposed to look back.
