Y/N has spent her life climbing the ranks of the world's most elite assassins-cold, precise, unstoppable. But when she receives a cryptic summons from **The Owner**, the ruthless mastermind behind the global assassin network, she's thrown into a deadly game with only one rule:

**Only 10 may survive.**

Every top-tier assassin-100 of them-has been gathered in secret and given the same brutal command: **kill or be killed**. Friendships, alliances, and even old rivalries are pushed to the edge as the world's deadliest killers turn on each other in a race against time and trust.

But amidst the bloodshed, Y/N crosses paths with **a rival assassin who's as dangerous as they are captivating**. As the bodies fall and the deadline draws near, their uneasy alliance turns into something more, a connection neither of them can afford.

With betrayal lurking in every shadow, Y/N must decide: **follow her heart, or finish the mission**.

Only ten can walk away.
And love might be the most lethal threat of all.

"You know, I'm sure all the debutant balls and coronations or whatever can get pretty boring. Are you even capable of having fun?" I raised my voice so she could hear as she walked out the door, but she stood, holding it open. She turned around and I stopped in my tracks. She looked at me as if she were searching for something, and I found myself holding my breath. Stunning. Her pink lips parted, about to say something, but a buzzing sound came from her purse. She pulled out her phone and frowned at the screen. "Goddamnit," she muttered and put her phone away, looking back up at me. Her green eyes met mine for the last time, cold and annoyed. Her light eyelashes framed them as she squinted, and her stare held me in a trance. "Good luck with all that, Mr. Devlin." And she left. ... ... ... Whimsical, unserious Jake, and short-tempered, privileged Winnie find themselves cleaning out her recently deceased grandfather's apartment. His belongings reveal that he wasn't the boring, old man she assumed he was, and his activities while he was alive could put Jake and Winnie at risk. Helpless and isolated, they have no choice but to rely on each other, to trust one another. ... ... ... This is a slow burn, has secondary characters, and side quests. If you're into books that feel like you are watching eight seasons of television, than you will enjoy this! An assassin with secrets. A man with scars. Love was never supposed to be part of the deal. "We can't," he said, his voice rough but final. The rejection was a physical blow. Humiliation, hot and sharp, washed over me, followed immediately by a fury so intense it blurred my vision. I released his jacket like it was on fire, snatching my hand back from his chest. Of course. Of course. I shoved open the van door, the metal screeching in protest. I practically fell out into the garage, needing to put distance between us, needing to breathe air he hadn't just stolen from my lungs. "Thorn-" he began, his voice following me out. I spun around, cutting him off. The words came out laced with a venom I didn't entirely feel, a weapon to match the hurt. "Don't. Just... don't." I was furious. Furious at him for starting it. Furious at him for stopping. But most of all, I was furious at myself. Furious for wanting it. For leaning in. For letting him make me feel, for one stupid second, like I was cared for. When Thorn-an elite assassin with too many secrets-collapses on the doorstep of Ash Penbrook, she expects death, not rescue. Ash is a powerful businessman with his own scars and a vendetta against the same organization Thorn once served. Forced into an uneasy alliance, their world becomes a battlefield of ambushes, betrayals, and buried truths. Survival draws them closer, but trust is dangerous-and love even more so. As enemies close in, both must decide: are they each other's salvation...or the final weapon that will destroy them?

Kill me" he said."Do it" My knife was pressed against his throat. Beads of sweat rolled down his neck, though he tried not to let his fear show, I could smell it miles away. He was scared, so so scared. His legs had given up, his breaths were shallow, akin to mine. I could, oh I really could end it right here, but something in me said otherwise, there was something that stopped me from doing so. - EIRA KNIGHTLEY - Eira was sure that she didn't deserve peace and prosperity, not after the sins she has comitted. But when she was given a chance of experiencing serenity, she was certain it was just an illusion. And when she thought she had figured out everything, a man whom she wasn't supposed to be acknowledged by, was now intrigued by her. He was none other than DRAVEN NOVAK, a heir, a scion, and over that a psychopath. He was sure that if he let Eira any closer, his flame would burn her, but he didn't know that it won't be Eira's first encounter with soaring infernos. ... •Dual POV• •3 year age gap• •Suspense• •Mature•
