Set in an alternate universe of the Man of Steel (2013) film, this fanfic explores a reality where General Zod's coup succeeds-halting Kal-El's launch and claiming the lives of Jor-El and Lara. As Krypton fractures, thousands manage to escape, but billions are left behind as the planet collapses. Under Zod's iron leadership, the survivors form a refugee fleet, with infant Kal-El growing up under his watchful eye.
This is the story of Kal's upbringing in exile, where Zod becomes both mentor and father figure, and Kal must navigate his role as a leader among the scattered Kryptonians. As he matures, Kal wrestles with his identity, challenging the beliefs he was raised with and forging his own path.
When Earth becomes the battleground for his people's future, Kal-El faces an impossible choice: stand with his Kryptonian heritage or protect humanity.
