Fly, Again

2021 Japan National Team Era. It was just like the past, staying late to train together one-on-one, perfecting their chemistry. The ball soared through the air from the set, and it was as if Hinata flew higher than he ever had before. But he didn't land; he crashed; it was that accident during training when Hinata died. It affected Kageyama more than he had ever thought possible. Everyone is telling him that he should rest, that he needs time. He needs a break to grieve appropriately.

However, Kageyama can't stop because every time he trains, it's as if Hinata is there; it's as if he appears. He's just there, almost in the flesh. Laughing, Jumping, Spiking, the banter, it was like he never left, like the two of them never grew up. It became routine to practice on his own, solo training; he hadn't trained with his current team directly in god knows how long. As long as he continues to play and train on his own, Hinata is there, so that's precisely what he does. Obsessively.
