A 1960s Love Story** In the deep South during the summer of 1960, love was a dangerous thing-especially when it crossed the color line. Seventeen-year-old Jimmy Reed keeps his head down. A quiet, talented mechanic with big dreams and little room to chase them, he knows the world doesn't offer second chances to boys like him. Sixteen-year-old Lily Monroe is the sheriff's daughter-privileged, protected, and expected to follow the rules written for girls like her. They meet by accident. They fall in love by choice. What begins with stolen glances and whispered conversations in the library blossoms into something daring, defiant-and forbidden. As rumors spark into threats and secrets threaten to explode, Jimmy and Lily must decide: stay safe in the world they were born into, or risk everything for the chance to create a future of their own. Set against the backdrop of the segregated South, Summer of Us is a poignant, heart-wrenching romance about courage, resistance, and the kind of love that refuses to be silenced.

Lilly, a human, is caught between two overbearing alphas. Both claim her, but only one will have her. A story that contains passion and betrayal. --- This book has explicit content. It may talk about triggering themes such as physical AND sexual abuse, violence, etc. Warning: There will not be a notice before any of these scenes. Please read at your own discretion. --- Note: The story is centered around High School graduate, 18 year old, Lilly. I would definitely change her age to a college graduate, around 22-25. When I wrote this piece, I was in my early 20s. Making the protagonist a few years younger than me didn't seem bad. But, as I've grown, I would definitely mature my characters due to some story line themes. I hope to rewrite and fix said issue. But, if you read the novel beforehand, then just know I am aware. --- ALSO, this book is FICTION. My goal is not to promote anything. It's meant as a distraction, a past time. I hope you read and enjoy the book, but understand it's just a work of art with no agenda besides fun.
