My first short story! Yay!
One day I was with my parents and my friend at a nature reservation with a bird-viewing point. It had this long bridge you had to follow over the mud, water and swampy plants. That's where I got the inspiration for this story. So, without further ado: enjoy!

I was pressed against the tree, all his weight on me, I felt the Sparks and I knew he had felt them as well. " what is your name?" he asked me, I tried to get out of his grip but it was useless. He turns my head, looking him dead in his eyes. "I don't like to repeat myself, girl" he says but this time getting annoyed. "Samira" I whisper. he was just about to say something when I saw a woman walk out of the woods, her skin was a tan color with her long back hair pulled in a ponytail. she came over to us placing her hand on his shoulders whatever happened he let go of me i fall with a loud thump. [NOW TRADITIONALLY PUBLISHED WORLDWIDE] "A life of happiness would be hell on earth." • When Grace finally decided to end her life, the last thing she expected was to meet a stranger simply gazing at the stars, dangling his feet over the edge of the bridge, exactly where she had planned to jump into the abyss and end it all. What was supposed to be the last hour of Grace's life becomes the hour in which she poured her drunken, broken heart out to a stranger over a bottle of scotch and a fresh round of tears. Surviving can be difficult when you're only a few inches tall. Fanged beasts see you as their prey, every creature is bigger than you, and the world seems to work against small things. Not to mention the struggles of getting from place to place... but the worst of it all? Humans. Once a year, every year, summer sweeps over the forest. The sun warms the leaves and the damp melts away until the world of the Winged flourishes. Those warm months are when survival becomes the hardest. Drawn by the beauty of the forest, humans of all kind invade the already dangerous home of the small Winged people. Fear of these monsters is shared throughout the tribes. One sacred piece of advice is known: avoid humans at all costs.
