It was a cool October night in England, Maryann Nox and her Best friend Susan Bennet were walking home from an evening ball. They were only two blocks from their flat when the faint sound of footsteps came from behind them.
"Do you hear that?"
"Probably just someone walking home."
"Your probably right." Maryann pulled her shawl tighter. The pair rounded a corner and the footsteps followed.
" Susan, were the only one's who would be out this late on our block."
" Maybe old Jack's risen from the grave and is out hunting." Susan teased.
"Not funny. Can we please speed up?"
"Alright." The two began to walk faster,and so did their follower. After a while of being chased they picked up their skirts and began to run.The footfalls ran too.In a last minute decision they ducked into an ally, a dead end. The stalker cornered them and leaned close to them and said: "What a beautiful set of pearls your both wearing."
