Beyond the plates

Upon entering the grand restaurant I could hear plates being stacked and silverware being tossed upon each other. The quick glimpse of food ready to devour as servers carry them out into the diner. Stepping into the kitchen the sight of raw ingredients all scattered as the sound of oil popping as raw flour coated food was dropped into grease.

You get a glimpse of the raw side of what it is like to work in the food and beverage industry. Some of these experiences are personal while a few are witnessed. The story you are about to read is a combination of three kitchens I have personally worked at. For protection all names have been changed.
