This is a story of a boy named "Saito Amane". After a certain incident that breaks his family and him makes him depressed and sad. His friend named " Hayasi Mei" who tries to help him to overcame his trauma but she never succeeds in it. The long lasting trauma makes a certain difference in his life and that was making a hole in his heart. That's depressed Amane more he was sitting in the hospital waiting area try to understand what to do and then he met a girl who asked him what happened and Amane who was reluctant at first tells her about it's disease and instead of consoling him. The girl smiles and said. " are you going to die too. Hey! will you become my death partner." This is a story about this two life that will going to end soon. What they will do in the limited time they have. How they both enjoy and get close to each other.
