Love in the Light of Faith: A Journey Through Islamic Love Stories
Many of what we call "love stories" today are nothing more than stories of lust and desire, physical attraction disguised as love. Is love about dying for the one you love or living every breath with him/her? Swapping love notes... exchange , living happily ever after... Normally, we associate these ideas of love with couples who meet, date, and fall head over heels for each other. Very rarely do we relate these images to married couples. Moreover, we almost never connect this perception to Muslim couples, who marry according to purely Islamic customs. Although this link is quite rare, there actually exists an example in Islaam's own history, which not only depicts this kind of love but goes far beyond it. For ease of reading, I have not inserted "Peace be upon him" each time the name of the prophet SAW is mentioned in some stories, but please take it that the salutation apply to him peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him.. Like Adam and Eve, it was inevitable that they'd give into the devil's tricks, and hence were banished to opposite sides of the earth. They found each other eventually, and from there on, that's where the story of humanity started. The two souls within this tale reside in different ends of the earth. They share different beliefs. Different cultures. Different languages... She was an ordinary Muslim girl, living in the Meskin Empire. There was an abundance of everything God could have graced the lands of the Meskins. They had it all. Then came in the enemies, wanting to steal the land and claim it as their own, but that wasn't the only thing they wanted. They wanted control, but so did the Meskins over their land. So they fought. Two different worlds collide against each other, wanting to take over. But who would prevail. Read to find out. It Started with a Hijabi's Diary
"And they plot and plan, and ALLAH plans and ALLAH is the best of planners" (Al-Quran) "Can you tell me to whom this diary belongs?" The person gave me a bored look and I took a long breath to ease the ache in my lungs. I don't think I've ever ran this much in my life. I gave him a pleading look. "Please?! It's really important!". The person looked at me with a face void of any emotions. "Please!!" I don't think I've ever used this word for anyone except my family. I just ordered and it happened. But it didn't seem to be happening right now. I took a last glance at the person giving him a desperate look, then ran to other people. One clue, Just one!! Alteast a little hint!! I kneeled down on the road, not caring about anything and pleaded to Allah Almighty, keeping the diary close to me as it's the most precious thing in the world, the beads present in its cover poking my chest, "Please Allah! I'm sorry for all the sins I've ever done in my life. Surely, You're the most merciful. Please, find me a way to her. Let me meet her. Oh, Allah! Only You know if I don't go to her, what will happen. Please help me." I looked at the diary, its beads shining in the sunlight, and still keeping it close to my chest, I sat at the pavement looking defeated but I won't lose hope. I would not lose hope!! Then I heard heavy footsteps and then someone placed a hand on my shoulder and I turned only to feel like all the trucks of the world attacked me at once. It can't happen.
