18 year old Catherine or Cat as she prefers is a witch and a very powerful one at that. She is the most powerful witch in 50 years(not that they know)For the last 2 years she has been watching over her 7 year old sister Liz since her parents disappeared, leaving her millions of dollars. She is confronted by a girl named Samantha who claims that she along with three  of her friends are also witches and that they need her help. A larger group of witches is forming and threatening them and the mortals around them. Cat is hesitant at first but eventually decides to pack up her things and and leave Liz with a Nanny full time. When she arrived she didn't get the warm greeting and new friendships she had hoped for, instead she gets petty pranks and annoying comments. While everyone knows she is powerful, no one knows the extent of it. The others have group magic where they are powerful together where she has individual magic, more power by herself.
