Trapped. For two centuries, Astarion has been trapped. In a circumstance. Under the thumb of a master. Trapped between what he wants and what he has been commanded. But even when he finds himself infected with a mindflayer tadpole and dropped in a grove over a hundred miles from his captor, free from the debilitating effects of his curse, he still feels trapped. After running across a strange druid outside of Emerald Grove, he wonders if, maybe- just maybe- he can find a path to real freedom.

Jalva left behind her roots as a druid long ago. An ex-soldier, a wanderer of Faerun, she returns to Baldur's Gate to find her way back into an upper-class social circle, hoping to find something to fill her monotonous days. But when she is abruptly captured and implanted with an Illithid tadpole, she finds all the excitement she wants and more, including in the form of a familiar face.

The Weaver of Distant Stars by Nydelia

She fell asleep, and woke beneath distant stars. In a world half-remembered, half-imagined, she wove light into broken fates, and carried strangers in her soul. She fought not for glory, but for a love that was never meant to be hers. Some stories are never finished. Some dreams are never truly left behind. And some- some are written forever across the stars. ⸻ "She crossed the threads of the world-and left a story behind." ____________________________ 🌌 Author's Note At first glance, this might look like a self-insert isekai. A girl wakes up in a fantasy world she knows too well, surrounded by the characters she once controlled. Magic hums through her veins. Danger crackles on the horizon. A certain silver-haired vampire watches her a little too closely. But this story is more than escapism. It's more than romance. It's more than a dream come true. It's about what happens after the dream. About the creeping weight of memory, and what it means to forget who you used to be. About the quiet ache of loving people who were never meant to be real. And the question that echoes long after the last page: If you lost the way home... would you still want to go back? This fanfiction is my love letter to Baldur's Gate 3, to found family, to falling in love with stories-and to those of us who've ever wished we could fall into the world that saved us. So, if you've found your way here... welcome. Take my hand. There are stars waiting for us. -Koda ✨ ____________________________________________ Disclaimer: I do not own Baldur's Gate 3 or any associated characters. All rights belong to Larian Studios. Should've kept the knives out and their hearts in, and never once let their hands shake when they touched. But fate has other plans. Older plans. Plans written in a language neither of them understands-yet. He wants freedom. She wants answers. And neither of them are ready for what it'll cost to have both. Enemies-to-something-else. Slow-burn fantasy. Too many secrets between kisses.
