Chen Xuze had a childhood nickname, which originated from a fateful mahjong game. Before he was born, Grandma Chen and Mama Zhou both drew a Thirteen Wonders hand at the same table, one after the other. Thus, Zhou Yao and Chen Xuze-she got the character "Yao" (one), and he got "Shisan" (Thirteen).
