"Babe, I've got a surprise for you. Waiting in room 791." I sent the message, tied a silk blindfold around my eyes, and knelt on the bed-his birthday gift, wrapped and ready. The past six months had pulled us apart. Tonight was my chance to fix that. A man walked in. His steps were steady, confident. He didn't say much, but he took control of everything-especially my pleasure. I believed it was my boyfriend, even though he was more intense, more commanding than usual. The next day, after a long day at work, I finally checked my phone. His message was waiting: We're done. I don't want a girlfriend who sleeps with someone else while I'm in the hospital with a broken leg. What? If it wasn't him last night... then who was it? And when the new boss walked into the office-same scent, same hands, same overwhelming presence-I started to wonder: Was it him? What the hell really happened that night?

"Ms. Peterson, did you attend a club Friday night? " Mr. Shaw said causally as he focused his eyes on his twirling pen. "No" I said trying not to show that I was lying. But then again people always think I'm lying. "Well I just ask because when I went to a club Friday night...there was a girl who looked an awful lot like, you dancing on one of the tables at a bar with a bra on as a top" he said focusing his narrowing eyes on me now. " Is that question really appropriate to ask in the work place sir?" I said confused. "I'm not sure? Is it Ms. Peterson?" he said a little sarcastically. "Well... since you are not sure, I will just be on the safe side and not answer it sir" I said hoping to get a positive response for what I just said. "Very well. Get out now" he said coldly and I walked out of the office with my next assignment. Why didn't God answer my prayer about Mr. Shaw getting attacked by a bear? I thought to myself when i had close the door behind me. (Written September 22 2017 Has mature language and I might write another part for the steamy scenes and this is my first book so take it easy.
