Ten years after Thragg's defeat, Earth is rebuilding-but not healing. The Guardians of the Globe are stretched thin. The new and old members are struggling to work together. Trust is rare. And Mark Grayson-Invincible-hasn't returned, despite promising he would.

Eighteen-year-old Markus "Marky" Murphy, son of Mark and Anissa, is doing his best to hold it together as the new Invincible... the new protector of Earth. Between high school, full-time duty as a Guardian, and mentoring his younger sister Molly, he's barely keeping up, especially with the rise of threats to both him and the world.

On the other side of the universe, Ursaal, daughter of Thragg- and a Thraxan - once loyal to her father's old Empire, is now forging her own future. She hides scars from the war, her disowned name, the death of her twin brother, as well as facing minimal trust and shunning from the other viltrumites... being treated as less... due to her past.

When they meet, Ursaal feels like Marky is the only one who understands her, and Marky feels the exact same. As their bond grows, so do the stakes.

And in the shadows... a familiar face is pulling the strings for a dark future.
