In the artsy streets of Asheville, North Carolina, two worlds collide - and sparks fly in the most unexpected way. Elio Brooks is everything Akira White isn't: brooding, guarded, and wrapped in shadows. A rebellious architecture student with tattoos and a sharp tongue, he keeps the world at arm's length - except for his loyal dog Bear and the secret softness only he dares to show. Akira is a burst of light, a free-spirited zoologist with a heart as big as her dreams. Living in her quirky bungalow surrounded by plants and paintbrushes, she's as warm and wild as the insects she adores - but beneath her sunny smile lies a quiet fear of not being enough. Enemies by circumstance and opposites by nature, Elio and Akira's paths keep crossing in a slow dance of tension and tenderness. As their walls crack, they discover that sometimes the hardest hearts hold the deepest love, and the brightest souls need shelter too. The Sunshine Effect is a story of emotional healing, passionate longing, and the delicate power of small moments - a broody x sunshine romance for anyone who believes love can soften even the darkest edges.

Here she is. I can see the slope of her spine through that thin shirt. She's made of angles I ache to smooth with a hand, but I'd use my lips if she asked. I brush her knuckles with mine. Her skin is cold, but she flips her palm for more contact. I lace our fingers. It's enough to make her look at me. As those kaleidoscopic eyes meet mine, I hold my breath. Then she sets her lips just under my jaw. It rips the air from my lungs. It's the softest thing I've ever felt. "What was that for," I breathe. She pulls back, lashes damp, and whispers, "You're the kind of person that should be kissed." 𝙝π™ͺ𝙧𝙩 π™₯π™šπ™€π™₯π™‘π™š 𝙝π™ͺ𝙧𝙩 π™₯π™šπ™€π™₯π™‘π™š BOOK TWO C O N T A I N S : ❀︎ mature content ❀︎ romance & friendship ❀︎ yearning Copyright Β© 2021-present Laurel Montaze (immoralLaurel).
