One year after the events of 'Lost', Rex continues to search for a way back into the backrooms, and search for a way back to Kierstan. But as he begins to fail again and again, he asks himself if he even should be doing this. After all, it was so rare to escape from the backrooms the first time, let alone a second. What if this time he doesn't make it out? What if he fails to help Kierstan? 

When an opening to the backrooms finally reveals itself, Rex must make a choice. Relish in a life that he knows he chose, blissfully living with the knowledge he left her behind. 
Or sacrifice it all for a second chance. A second chance for them both to be free from the backrooms. 

And when he makes his choice, his sister Stacey and Kierstan's father Ted will have to face the repercussions of either outcome.

Each story is tied to one person who now hides in the forest that most steves are to scared to to enter.

His brand of normalcy includes a kickass grandma, childhood trauma and your everyday run of the mill dragon, but hey, he's not as insane as the others. Really, Zach is thirsting for adventure. Something that doesn't involve babysitting siblings or feuding with his parents. He should've been careful what he wished for.
