Second chances usually entail some sort of redemption - An opportunity to right ones wrongs...
However, redemption is probably the last thing on Cora's mind as she emerges from the shadows with silent inevitability, the moolight glinting off the edge of her blade. Throat slit. Blood gushing, gurgled gasping, a wet thump as the body hits the ground. They never even saw her coming.
Redemption... Bah!
In about eight years, that word had never even crossed the young girl's mind. And why should it? In Cora's unwavering opinion, redemption was for the weak.

They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind.
