Cora has spent the last eight years living by one rule: the mission always comes first.

As an assassin, she hunts humanity's worst -- terrorists, corrupt politicians, war criminals.

Monsters.

She knows how to disappear, strike without warning, and leave everything behind. Attachments are weaknesses, and Cora has survived by having none.

But one mission forces her to face the person she thought she could avoid forever. Years of buried hatred and resentment return, and she has no intention of forgiving him -- not for leaving, or for everything that followed.

Then there's the Lieutenant: guarded, reserved, and carrying wounds of his own. Unlike everyone else, he seems determined to see past the assassin.

Caught between old loyalties and bitter betrayals, Cora begins questioning the world she devoted herself to. And when supposed allies become the very monsters she swore to destroy, something inside her finally breaks.

Now she faces her final mission: finish what she was trained to do -- or stand beside the people who have come to mean more to her than any mission ever could.

Because sometimes the hardest thing an assassin can do isn't pull the trigger.
