Join David and Michael as they struggle through high school only to find each-other when they least expect it. David's parents are supportive of his transition, his little sister not so much, as she struggles to understand why her older sister would want to be a boy. It starts to tear their family apart as she refuses to acknowledge David as his true self. While Michael on the other hand has always been looked upon and defined by his little sister's illness. He wants to be himself, he's popular, captain of the swim team, and he's the robotics captain. Michael starts to hang around school more, which is where he meets David. At a GSA Meeting. After Michael and Peter have their big argument which causes Kate to get hurt in the crossfire, Michael spends more and more time with David, slowly falling for him. Graduation Night is when things start to come down, and Michael makes a decision to move into a private flat on campus from NYU with David, knowing full well he won't be able to keep his hands off his boyfriend.
