Smile When You Dive In
*CROSSPOSTED FROM AO3* It was nearing the end of his fifth year at Hogwarts, and Regulus Black was getting on with it. Things at home had been far from perfect since Sirius ran away and left him behind, but that didn't mean that he'd stopped caring about his brother altogether. He just wasn't willing to admit that to Sirius. So when Regulus is woken one night by an infuriated Severus Snape, he doesn't want to get involved with whatever his brother's latest 'prank' is. But seeing him isolated from his friends in the following days, and worried about what the coming summer will bring, Regulus decides that he has no option but to get involved. He couldn't possibly be aware of what would happen when he pushes himself into the orbit of one James Potter. Houses of the Holy
Regulus Black has never been good at living. Ever since he escaped from his parent's house when he was 14, he's decided it's better to live in a cold, detached state, because he's good at that. Oh, and, he really, cannot stand James Potter. James Potter is an awfully good actor. He plays his many roles and masks well. But then, who is he really? Without the lies and the pretending? And would any of his friends really be his friends without it? Or James has always pretended to be someone he's not, and Regulus is determined to crack open his many masks, simply to watch him fall apart. This story deals with some bad mental health, past trauma from Regulus and Sirius, and heavy topics, so please be careful when reading, look after yourselves <3 Note: all characters and settings belong to their respective authors, and if there's any overlap with the way I have portrayed them, it's purely incidental.Complete
Mixed Tape: Regulus' Story
[Completed] Dear reader, If you've come across this little story, then I'm glad that I have at least had to chance to explain myself to one person. I'm not here to justify my actions nor am I here to tell you that I am good or even worth anything at all, but let me at least explain my side of the story. Let me tell you about my anger and my family and even my many failures. Let me even tell you about James Potter and the way he sings and laughs and sees something in me as if I'm not the worst person to have ever lived. It's strange, I don't even know why I'm writing this all down. I guess I might not have given up on it all after all. Sincerely, R. A. B. Hello everyone! I'm very excited to share this fic with you all! It's Regulus' story told by Regulus and with each chapter named after and inspired by a different song that he may have known. Also, I love to make these characters queer and interesting since JK Rowling seems to hate that. This story is complete so there are no new updates coming. If you liked this, you may want to check out my Wolfstar fic titled Mirror Moon which exists in the same canon as this story and certain events overlap. the salt and the sea → regulus black
The year after her brother James graduates, Teddy Potter returns to Hogwarts for her final year. With the Marauders gone, it should be a quiet, peaceful year despite the mounting tensions in the world outside of school. The problem, naturally, lies with Regulus Black, the broody boy who just might be the most effortlessly aggravating person she's ever met in her whole life. And for someone who was raised with James Potter, that's saying a LOT. ─── ･ ｡ﾟ☆: *.☽ .* :☆ﾟ. ─── "You know, it must be exhausting to be such a fucking prick all the time."
