Being the daughter of the god of the Underworld isn't the first thing you'd want to tell someone about yourself. But when it might lead them to telling you exactly what you want to hear, through the fear of what they think you might be able to do to them, it can come in handy. My father thought that my mother's memory of us, of our whole world, was wiped clean from her mind, but I knew differently.
I knew that she still remembered and, with her memory still intact, she was still in danger of the person who we thought was a friend.
I knew that I had to find her, wherever she was, hiding in plain sight.
I knew that finding her and having her with us was the right thing, no matter what my father said.
But the one thing that I didn't know?
I didn't know that, after the twenty-four hundred years that I'd been alive, I would find the one person that I was destined to be with, the one person that I would do anything for, even defy the others that I loved.

*Airyana* In a husky whisper, Dhairya leaned into her ear. "I told you... I don't talk. I prove it with my actions." He spun her around to face him, holding her waist tightly with one hand, while the other slid to the back of her neck. Before she could protest, he kissed her. At first, the kiss was soft, almost tender, but it quickly deepened into something more forceful, more intense. His hands roamed over her body, pulling her closer, as if he couldn't get enough. Aradhana struggled against him, trying to push him away. She bit down on her lip to stop him, hoping it would make him pull back. But instead, Dhairya retaliated, biting her lip harder, causing it to bleed. A sharp pain shot through her, and she felt the warmth of her blood trickling down the side of her mouth. *Ruvinash* Avinash smiled but didn't give in. Ruhi jumped to reach it, but lost her balance. She closed her eyes, bracing for the fall, but two strong arms caught her. She opened her eyes to find herself in Avinash's embrace, their faces inches apart. For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Ruhi, flustered, grabbed the book from his hand as he snapped out of his thoughts. She pushed him away playfully and said, "Everything is fair in love and war." "Okay then," he replied, pulling her close again with a jerk. *Ishika* Do I play it subtle? Or do I just-no, no, Mishika, calm down. You can't come on too strong. Play it cool. Play it safe. Just... make sure you stay close. Give him little hints. Smile when he looks your way. Laugh at his jokes, even if they're terrible. Basically, be the charming, irresistible version of yourself. Simple, right? Ugh, who am I kidding? Nothing about this is simple. But I'll figure it out. I mean, this is Jay Malhotra we're talking about. And if there's one thing I've learned, it's that sometimes, you have to fight for what-or who-you want. And I want him. Game on, Jay Malhotra. Game on. ____________________________________

I pushed Mrs. Havisham away from me and fought out of Damon's iron grip. I stalked towardsmy father and his evil, hysterical grin. He opened his arms as if to hug me. I raised my sword and plunged it deep into his stomach. His face turned from a grin to shock and he looked down at his stomach to find the sword I was still holding implanted in his flesh. He looked back up at me and I pulled the sword out sharply, mercilessly. His face turned into a sick grimace which made waves of horror pass through my body. He fell to the ground just in front of my mother. A single tear ran down my cheek. I looked down at my mother and father, both dead, at my hand. Both bleeding because of a stupid peice of silver.
