After they defeated the Kraang, Donatello was allowed to inspect the remains of the Technodrome that were left in New York city, and some specific parts of the battlefield. Why? Well, caution is everything - what if the Kraang suddenly came back? If they do, then the world will know how to deal with them better and how to defeat them. Just learning their DNA, strengths, weaknesses, plans and schemes... Everything normal and practical.

Right?

Well, during the fourth day of his research... His sensors have started beeping. He'd made DNA and RNA detectors specifically for this case - what if some genetic material that belongs to the Kraang was there? Or some other unknown creatures? Everything is possible. So, he started digging into the ground a little... And found a white vial. When he brought the sensors closer to it, they beeped even faster. Yep, that has either RNA or DNA molecules. He picks it up, examining it. Nothing weird... But who knows?

For the remaining three days, he keeps researching - but, nothing except interesting machinery parts are seen by Donnie. He takes the vial and the parts home - without informing his brothers about the vial. He decides that he doesn't need their interested gazes and questions, and that he'll tell them once he fully studies it.

What he doesn't know is that his decision will impact everyone, and cause many events to happen.
