Everyone thinks they know Meg Griffin - awkward, dramatic, too much. But what if everything they thought they knew was dead wrong? Fifteen-year-old Maisie Griffin is starting to remember a life that ended too soon - the life of Mercy Dove Brown, a bold, beautiful Black girl with big dreams and a bigger heart. Now reborn as Meg, she's living a second chance with curves that never go unnoticed, a voice they tried to silence, and a baby they never saw coming. After a secret pregnancy and a week of explosive gossip, Maisie returns to school not with shame, but with a plan. She's got Hello Kitty nails, a slight weed addiction, a loyal boyfriend, and a mouth that cuts deeper than any rumor, she's stepping into her power-and she's not asking permission. Her family's fake. Her classmates are sharks. And Lois? She's just another bitter hater in a perfect house made of glass. This time, Maisie's rewriting the narrative - one savage clapback and one bold choice at a time. Because wasted mercy is still power. And she's ready to take hers back.

A positive test is always supposed to be something good; it's written in its name. But the plus sign was all it took for Milly to know her life was over. Milly was never the star student or model daughter. She wasn't the person others wanted around, in fact, she was the girl who always found herself in trouble. This time she is facing the ultimate punishment for a teen: unwanted pregnancy. It didn't take long for the world she knew to tumble down and be crushed into a million pieces with her still in it. The people who should have supported her have all turned away. With no parents, no father for her unborn child, and no place to call home. Left with nothing, Milly must find a way to survive in a world that despises her.
