The Zombies are called Growlers. They're blind, but can hear very well. The infection itself is called Feral Reanimation Syndrome (FRS). It affects animals and humans, but not insects. It was created in a Chinese Lab, as a way to test humans on their survival. The virus began in 2005. You can only become a Growler if bitten or scratched. If bitten, you don't turn for 7-10 days. If scratched, 11-14 days. On the day that you would become a Growler, you'd die and then be reanimated as one.

The problem didn't arise when those people got up and started walking again, or even when they started eating and infecting others, it began when people got desperate. The Zergling (Clementine Story)
On November 2037, a pack of aggressive creatures were found in the underground of the City of Macon. It was called Zerglings. The one-meter-tall creature with complex optical structure, which allow them to see at night. They leap with their webbed feet and possess sickle limbs and sharp incisor teeth, used primarily for tearing into flesh. They keep increasing in number and the human civilization was started to falling down. Countless people died. Human are not capable to fight the Zergling. A few weeks went by, we learned that the Zergling were found in other places too around the world. Within 8 months, they took over the world. Survivors form communities. They defend their home against Zergling. Some communities survive, but some has to accept their tragic fate. Fourteen years later, the earth has become a bad place to live. With limited and scarce resources, sometimes human become as dangerous as the Zergling. At first human fight the creature, and then human fight each other. An eighteen-year-old girl, Clementine, saved by Lee Everett when this all started. They travelled and met other survivors until they were sound and safe inside a community. Clementine learned that people around her, fellow survivors, friends, close friends, or anyone that meant family to her, always died. And sometimes, for stupid reasons. She even made one simple mistake that make it worse, leading her fate to a dangerous world she's not prepared to be in. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. This Is Now (the last of us)
This is a fan fiction based on the last of us game the time line of the story takes place at the end of the game and different location (sorta). I'm also going to do that thing that the game did with the seasons,the whole game is technically a year. If you watch game play you'll know what I'm talking about. This story may contain very similar events to the game (because I not the best with my own ideas) so I want give as much credit to naughty dog and the story developers of the game and the creators or artists of the covers of most of the story parts and maybe music, because I don't own them and to be honest the game itself gave me some ideas, and inspired me to make this story. oh I'm not sure if this is a good Idea but the characters in the story are me and my friends but only first names I don't wanna give out last names if that is too much and by the way not all of the characters are my friends I made a couple of them up. Just wanted to put my self in the action. I'll probably make a sequel to this story so hope you like it. This is sort of a mature audience type of story, but there is not going to that much romance...well there is actually, but don't expect it to be all that this story has to offer. Plus the cover might be a little off since Wattpad covers isn't working with me right for some reason. Daliah is a 38 year old woman in the apocalypse and lost her son to Fedra, when her son was barely two years old and therefore not old enough to remember his mother and since the day that Fedra took her son from Daliah, the woman has only 1 goal and that is to find her son and kill the people who took her son from her, just because her boyfriend at the time, thought she was not fit to be a mother in the apocalypse and thought she was going to neglect her son, but Daliah will not rest, until she puts a bullet through the head of the man who took her son, and all the people who helped him, and Daliah only knows one emotion, anger, nothing else, not since her son was torn from her arms. But everything changes when Daliah meets Joel Miller, a man who lost his daughter the day the world ended and has been closed off ever since and barely speaks to anyone except her and a woman named Tess and through a stupid misunderstanding it happens that Joel, Daliah and Tess have to take two girls to the fireflys and those girls are Ellie and Violet and they might just change the course of the world.

But what had YN in complete shock and not knowing how to deal with it is the person who did it. Her brother was alive after she already Mourned his death. She blames herself for not double checking to make sure he was really dead or not. Luckily she has a list of rules and guidelines she has been working on as the days of living in a post apocalyptic world with the living dead to keep her busy.
