Finding a decent apartment wasn't easy, especially when you looked sixteen, maybe seventeen on a good day. Five might have had the mind of an old man, but landlords weren't exactly lining up to hand him a lease.

Lila, on the other hand, wasn't thrilled about living alone, especially now that she was single and pregnant.
