In Dark Fall, prior to the arrival of the now disgraced King Leon, birth in a proclaimed dead land was impossible--but miraculously he'd borne a child, exactly what the Demons who had usurped and enslaved him had wanted. That child was Turtle, but there was a problem: Turtle was born a daughter, when the Demon King had been assured by his close right-hand servant that she would be their desired male heir.
Born into a world that's entirely against her, with a fatal history hanging over her head and intertwined in her blood, she has no choice but to navigate through her wretched birthland and guard not only her own precious dignity, but the malleable state of her little brother, Memphis, to keep him from turning into the monster she knows he's destined to become, and from the implication of what would happen to her should her brother perish.
