Her birth was never supposed to happen. Birth in a proclaimed dead land was impossible up until Leons arrival into Dark Fall-and now he'd borne a child, exactly what the demons who had enslaved him had wanted, and that child was Turtle. Except there was a problem: Turtle was born a daughter, when the demon king had been assured by his close right-hand servant that she would be male.
Trapped in a world that's entirely against her, she's forced to navigate through her birthland and guard not only her own precious dignity, but the malleable state of her little brother, Memphis, to keep him from becoming the monster she knows he's destined to become, and from the implication of what would happen to her in the case that her brother perished to the unforgiving land of demon-against-demon.
