Every ruin has a beginning.

Before the promises,
before the hearts,
before the lies, faith, and fate-

there was a bond.

A bond that should never have been renamed.
Married.
A label.

And when unwanted bonds are tied,
the unspoken bond between them shatters.

A ruined bond can remain broken,
or it can learn how to heal.

And when it begins to heal,
the secrets once buried
rise slowly through the ragged edges-
asking to be seen,
and maybe... just waiting to be understood.
