Vietnam, 1971. The war has spent years devouring jungles, bodies, and souls. The lines between enemy and ally, between good and evil, have blurred beneath the unbearable heat and the constant hum of insects. In the midst of the chaos, a young U.S. Army intelligence lieutenant, Elias Ward, is sent on an unofficial and almost ghostly mission: to track a colonel who has deserted and vanished deep into the jungle, where he has founded a kind of community among rogue soldiers, armed monks, and peasants with strange beliefs. High command wants the colonel eliminated, but they can't do it directly. They need someone who understands the darkness without completely losing themselves in it. Elias is not a soldier. He's a thinker, an observer someone who would rather write about war than fire a gun in it. But they send him anyway. He's assigned a small squad composed of broken soldiers, silent psychopaths, and men who no longer believe in anything. The river journey that takes him into the heart of the jungle is slow and surreal, filled with twisted tribes shaped by war, camps where morality has evaporated, and soldiers who shoot at their own shadows. Each stop reveals more about the godless world he's entering... and more about himself. As he draws closer to the colonel, the voices in his head grow louder. He doesn't know if the jungle is driving him mad or if he's seeing the world as it truly is for the first time. But the real question isn't whether he'll find the colonel. It's whether, once he does, he'll want to come back.

A group of military are on a recon mission stuff goes wrong they get captured by this new terrorist group and what they do will sicken you make you uncomfortable and visually See it My goal is to make you see what they see and make you uncomfortable asf About the author Known only by the pen name Lucien Graves, the author was born in Cartersville, Georgia-but innocence didn't follow him far. By the age of 10, addiction had already taken root. At 12, he saw his first corpse in the shadows of a rundown motel. At 13, he watched his best friend die in front of him. At 14, he tried to take his own life. That same year, the world stopped feeling real. Violence, death, police raids, survival in the margins-he didn't grow up, he endured. With nowhere left to turn, he found strange comfort in what disturbed others: gore, horror, and the darkest corners of the internet. Not for thrill-but to feel nothing at all. It numbed the parts of him that still screamed. But out of that numbness came something else: a need to create. His mind-fractured but sharp-became a weapon. At 17, Lucien Graves released his first short story, "What Happens Under the Moonlight," a glimpse into the madness most shy away from. His writing doesn't aim to entertain-it aims to unsettle. Every word he writes is a scar, and every story is a grave he's dug to bury the past. He doesn't write to heal. He writes to haunt. ⸻ Want it even more unfiltered or do you want to add details about what you're working on next?
