Oliver Ridge is tired of her job.

So when her father offers her a deal she can't escape, she knows she can't miss the opportunity. She's suddenly whisked away to the Dales' Residence to work as a cook. And she's given a task to spy on Walter Dale, her father's greatest rival. Little did Oliver know that there's much more to the Dales than she expected.

The unusual cliché, mixed with cakes and a dash of craziness should complete the recipe for disaster. But will love be ever an ingredient?

Something flicked on my face. I wiped it with my hand to see that it was a bit of dressing from the salad. My eyes turned to Montana, who was smirking.

    Oh no, she didn't.

I glared at her but continued eating. "Why aren't you attacking her right now?" Brennan whispered, amused and shocked.

I stayed silent. I knew that if I opened my mouth, I'd probably lose control.

Deep breaths, Ollie. In and out. In and out. This is what Montana wants. To get you angry. Think about the chocolate ice cream. About the chocolate chips.

    "Bargain?" Brennan whispered.

"I started it," I said back, "Mom wouldn't let me try the ice cream station."

    "Boo."

'I kept staring that photograph for a minute, maybe 10 seconds. He took something out of his jeans pocket. "I forgot to give this to you yesterday." He was holding a little ice cream cone made of plastic, small and defenseless. I stopped breathing and grabbed it carefully from his muscular hand. At once, the ice cream felt heavier than it was supposed to be, growing bigger and bigger each second until we both could admire a normal-sized cone spilling vanilla flavor. Oliver smirked, and slowly approached his beautiful face from mine; his lips touched my ear. A shock came spreading electricity and I had to hold myself from fainting. "See, Angel..? In your hands, toys are more than toys." He whispered. I melted and died 174 times that moment. And without other words, my piece of planet turned and disappeared through a big door made of sadness and glass. Oliver Snowfields was gone.' ••• 💬"Toys are to Play is amazing, it is descriptive and it gives you a huge wave of emotions when you read it. She's a little more serious for someone in her kind of profession. You'd expect her to at least crack a smile on a daily basis. She's sensible. He's a little too flirtatious for his own good, but he's charming and sweet. He doesn't always give in easy. He has his heart set on getting the girl who owns the bakery on the corner to give him a chance, and she has her heart set on not giving into the charming personality of the man in her store. Which one of them will succeed in their goal? __________ Logan looks very amused. "It's just a phone number, beautiful. Not the end of the world." He smiles, reminding me of the terrible thing I'm doing here. I huff and finish putting my number in his phone, quickly handing it back to him. "You're going to delete my number after this, Logan." I firmly order, pointing my finger at him. Logan grins, charming. "I can delete it, but I can't forget it." He murmurs, teasing me as he waves his phone around. "Don't memorize it." I scoff, disgusted by the mere idea of Logan memorizing my fucking phone number. "Six-zero-two, sev-" __________ Waste My Time - Crystal Casino Band <3
