Lydia Blake, at least, that's who she says she is, only, her memories at times, seem like they aren't hers. Is that possible? She's running from something, someone maybe. Lydia herself wonders who she really is and how she fits in, in a place, she doesn't belong in her mind, but is her home. Together Mister McGee and Lydia build something from nothing, chastised at every turn by the Bride of Frankenstein's monster, McKenzie.
Lydia has kept herself pure for her mate that she longs for yet has still to find in this desolate world and is maintaining with the new life those with her are building when a scoundrel enters the picture, a hated man of ill repute, whom has somehow landed on the side of good an ally not to be trusted.
Plans within plans reveal themselves as a lost girl with the mind of a child and the heart of an assassin makes her home in their quaint town that has been rebuilt to be something more than it was. Their lives and lessons of life displayed in the emotions of love, troubles of trials, and journey of life itself are journalled from Lydia's perspective as passions and perceptions change as the days meander on.
